Facebook Celebrating Icons of Change Africa Event

Facebook Africa organised for the first time in Accra, Ghana a 2-day Pan-African event themed “Celebrating Icons of Change and the Future of the Continent”. The event brought together over 40 youth (aged 18-35) from across 15 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa who are Facebook Community Leaders, SMBs, Entrepreneurs, Developers, and Content Creators. Aside from celebrating change-makers, the event aimed to provide the delegates with the opportunity to gain insights through panel discussions, onstage interviews, and leadership training sessions.

Eagle London was tasked to film Facebook Africa’s 2day event in Accra. Facebook known as a leader for providing and facilitating great sharable content, required the videos to be professionally produced; applying modern and interactive techniques in post-production to reflect Facebook’s reputation.

The following deliverable was required from the 2-day event filming;

  • Produce a 2-3minutes showreel summarising the activities over the 2days.
  • Produce a long version/ mini-documentary video of the 2-day event for archival and reference purposes.

Eagle London collaborated with the crew from Eagle Accra, its partner agency based in Accra. The crew attended the 2-day event and filmed the entire proceedings, including speeches and presentations, onstage interviews, and leadership training sessions. After each session, the crew conducted one to one interview on camera with the speakers and some of the delegates who shared their experience and lessons learned.

Editing of the project was done in our London studio. We created an afrobeat style production music for the project in line with the theme of the event. To ensure the video appealed to fakebook’s diverse viewers, including people with disabilities, our editors applied appropriate fonts, font sizes, and less flashy transition effects. We also ensured that we adhere to Facebook Africa’s brand guidelines

We delivered the project to the client’s brief, delivering all the required deliverables on time and within budget. The video has provided Facebook Africas intended target audience with relevance, opportunities, insights, and links to other service providers. Facebook has also used the audio from the film to produce podcasts.
